Patrick Cox's latest collection at Charles Jourdan on New Bond Street London.

Brinkworth Design transformed the existing space with the help of velvet drapes concealing a stage set of real drama. The shop window hung with red velvet and has a lit as an oppulent signboard to the street. Inside the red velvet gives way to black drapes running from floor to ceiling, along both walls red lights in the floor. The centrepiece, bonded glass light box running the entire lengthof the room like a catwalk on which the shoes are displayed and lit from below and from the ceiling spot lights on high gloss black panels. The effect of heavy drapesand central luminescent box was dramatic. Three gyrating dancers are back lit behind a projection screen embellish the shopping experience.

Brinkworth Design have designed a dynamic new retail space as part of the Pentland Group's new international Head Quarters. The Pentland Group is the UK's leading sports and fashion brand mangement group and owners of brands such as Speedo, Ellesse, Kickers and Red or Dead.

With the 35m x 5m psace at the base of double height atriumthey were asked to create a retail store which had to have complete flexibility. Occasionallyit would be dedicated to a single brand and at conference or key sporting event times ie. Wimbledon, showcase all brands as retail store.

Brinkworth's response to thebrief was to design a sllek but highly functional metalic and magnetic environment. It has a wall of white enamlled steel sheet with a centrepiece of a curved steel half pipe which also serves as a theatrical projection screen for promotions.

Merchandise can be displayed anywhere using the Kojak super strength magnets. The whole system from coathanger to 'T' bars is magnetic and can easily and artfully be rearranged. The floor is a stone carpet made from minature pepples encased in resin adding a natural element.

The Whistles store in Islington has been given a new dsign concept by Brinkworth Design. The store has a long narrow plan with a bay window to the street. We relocated the entrance to the left hand side freeing up a an area foa a maniquin display. They are give deliberately life like poses with groups of figures loitering and posing. The menrchandsing units are set off against the antique mirror. Adam Brinkworth says we chopped the space in two with a flase wall in pink glass with an area concealed behind it.

The classic Whistle's customer is defined as "feminine, intelligent, humourous and quirky with a strong sense of discovery.

Brinkworth felt the old concept was not supporting the clothes sufficiently. We felt that there was great scope to evolve a new concept that would support a brand with such a great reputation.

We set out to create an environment that was a stronger embodiment of the Whistle's spirit, using elelments of the familiair and the unfamiliar, juxtaposing theold with the new.

The concept was launched at the Brighton store, also at the Bluewater Mall, Wimbledon and Islington stores.

A sex shop has invaded the womens department at Selfridges in London, designed by Brinkworth, it's the first shop for Tabooboo who have previously only traded on the internet. The greatest challenge for Brinkworth was to provide Tabooboo with an open and inviting space whilst appeasing Selfridge's needs to keep it discreet and warn shoppers of what lies inside Tabooboo. The designer's soloution was to enclose the area with UV bonded glass panels with an opaque pink strip. the colour scheme and graphic style featuring cartoon characters by Fibre have been used throughtout the space.http://www.brinkworth.co.uk/new/portfolio/commercial_designers.html
